Singles Mingle Sundays is a casual, low-pressure social experience embedded within the energy of the Roc Artists Open Market. It’s designed for single folks of all ages who want to meet new people, enjoy local art, and maybe spark a connection—romantic or otherwise.

Core Goals

  • Attract new attendees, especially singles looking for something different from bars or dating apps

  • Create an inviting, inclusive environment focused on connection and creativity

  • Deepen the community-building vibe the market is already known for

Format / Flow
This is a weekly experience every Sunday during the market season, with specific programming and subtle design elements to enhance the atmosphere without disrupting the market’s core.

Optional Participation Signal
At the main info booth or entry point, attendees can pick up a color-coded wristband to indicate their social openness:

  • Red = Just browsing

  • Yellow = Open to conversation

  • Green = Let’s mingle

This simple system allows for participation without pressure, helping people feel more comfortable engaging.

  • Fun and games, game tables board games, checkers etc…. Game pit area hoola hoops corn hole etc….

Roc Artists Open Market! Connecting the arts, music, and small businesses with the community in a festive atmosphere like no other in the Rochester NY, area! A weekly Sunday 10 am to 4pm outdoor event May through October, 26 events. Also happens in the heart of Jazzfest!

Last season with our change to Sundays and together with our new event neighbor The Lucky Flea (in its first year downtown), running in tandem across the street, we saw our crowd numbers grow throughout the season!

2000 plus patrons every Sunday last season, and GROWING! With the addition of our very entertaining house band and the quality produce vendors and consistent food vendors, entertainment, and in addition with Farmhouse Table Foods Cafe on premises, people have made these two market events a part of their weekend shopping and entertainment plans, as well as the tourism it has generated with many visitors now coming from the surrounding from areas, we are a part of the growth of the new downtown Rochester. Wow! 
 

Now is the time to get on the map and secure your space at the market. While we have plenty of space, some things will be limited such as the number of food vendors and certain types of vendors, as we want everyone to involved to do well. We will also limit vintage venders as that is the niche of our neighbors The Lucky Flea. 

Also establishing yourself early can also mean your location at the market, although we like to think there really is no bad space, others feel it can make a difference in easy setup, view, location etc….

Also we are currently at our same fee as last season $65 per event. Those applying now can lock in that fee for the season. And for those locking in for the full season (receive $290 discount)

Signing up early and establishing yourself also allows us to start advertising and promoting your involvement for you as soon as you are accepted!

We have created consistent a marketplace experience like no other in the Rochester area, where artists and entrepreneurs able to consistently each week connect with the community at large. We want to do everything we can to make it a great experience for both vendors and patrons!
